Peter specialises in major transactions and project development in the energy sector, including energy related infrastructure.
Regularly advising on high value, complex transactions, Peter has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, project development and joint ventures. Peter is a strategic advisor who clients value for his considered approach and commercial understanding of their business and industry.
Peter is well known for his expertise in the energy sector and regularly assists energy industry participants with major commercial contracts, operational and regulatory matters and market reform. Peter is recognised as a market leader in wholesale energy contracting (e.g. renewable power purchase agreements) and has particular expertise in the development of major energy projects including renewables and energy storage projects.
Peter has been named as one of Australia’s best energy lawyers in the Best Lawyers peer review surveys each year since 2014. He is also named in the areas of Construction / Infrastructure Law, Corporate Law and Natural Resources Law.
Peter is recognised as a leading energy lawyer in Doyle’s Guide to the Australian legal profession.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Newcastle. He is a member of the Energy & Resources Law Association (previously known as AMPLA).
