Ruth is an Associate in the planning team of our London Real Estate department.
Ruth has experience advising on the consenting and delivery of major infrastructure projects, predominantly in the energy, water and transport fields.
She works with clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious planning, including environmental impact assessments, habitats regulations, compulsory purchase and judicial reviews.
Ruth has advised on the consenting and delivery of a range of major infrastructure projects, predominantly in the energy sector, including solar and battery energy storage, energy from waste, offshore wind and carbon capture and storage. She has also advised on a range of transport projects, including rail and airport expansion. Prior to joining the firm, she was seconded to the in-house legal team at Southern Water, advising on consenting, environmental and regulatory aspects of its strategic water supply programme.
Ruth also works alongside the Real Estate department in relation to acquisitions, disposals, lettings and financings.

She is an active member of the National Infrastructure Planning Association's Early Years Practitioner group.

- Gatwick Airport in relation to its DCO application for the Northern Runway Project, to bring the airport's existing Northern Runway into routine use and to reconfigure various aspects of the airport's infrastructure
- Evolution Power in relation to its Stonestreet Green Solar DCO project in Kent, which will be a solar and battery storage project
- advising a developer on two DCO applications for large-scale solar and battery storage project, advising from pre-application to Examination (whilst at previous firm)
- advising an energy from waste developer on the implementation of a DCO for an energy from waste facility, and on the application for a carbon capture and storage plant DCO (whilst at previous firm)
