Samyata Ravindran
Samyata specialises in complex cross-border disputes and international arbitration.
Samyata has recent experience in commercial disputes before the SIAC in the energy, hospitality, and technology sectors, including disputes governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Further, she has worked on advisory matters relating to investor-state disputes. She also has a wealth of experience in matters involving complex commercial and market fraud.
Background
Samyata graduated from the National University of Singapore. She is admitted to the Singapore bar and, prior to joining the firm, was a Deputy Public Prosecutor at Singapore's Attorney-General's Chambers. She has acted as advocate at all levels of the Singapore courts.

- an Indian real estate fund on the settlement and allocation of risk in multiple claims during the acquisition of a distressed real estate fund
- Sinopec in relation to the $2.1bn conditional sale transaction of a 49% stake in Repsol Sinopec Resources UK. The transaction forms the settlement between the parties in relation to their dispute over North Sea oil and gas assets.
- a multinational hospitality company in disputes with a Thai hotel owner related to unpaid management and other fees (SIAC arbitration in Singapore, Singapore law)
- an LNG seller defending a claim regarding the enforceability of an HOA for a mid-term SPA (SIAC arbitration in Singapore, English law)
- a Chinese enterprise, in the quantum stage of an SIAC arbitration, which purchased oil fields on reliance of fraudulent misrepresentations. The matter was settled favourably in the week leading up to the hearing.
- a Korean multinational company, in a SIAC arbitration, which had entered into a CISG-governed sales agreement with a Chinese company for the sale of LCD displays, and the Chinese company failed to comply with the terms of the Agreement.
