Talia is an experienced lawyer in our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team.

Talia advises on the structuring, procurement, development and financing of large-scale renewables, energy transition and infrastructure projects in Australia and the United States. Her clients include government agencies, project sponsors, financiers and private equity funds. She has advised on a range of project documents and delivery methods (including EPC, D&C, construct only, equipment supply contracts, incentivised target cost, PPP, ECI, services agreements and O&M/LTSA arrangements) and has particular experience managing the interplay between finance and project documents.

Talia has spent time on secondment as in-house legal counsel both in the public sector and private sector where she provided solution-driven and commercial advice to respond to the client's needs. Talia was recognized as a Rising Star in Project Finance in The Legal 500 (United States).

Background

Talia holds a LLB and Bachelor of Science (Organic Chemistry) from the University of Sydney. Talia has worked across both Australia and the United States. Talia is admitted to the California State Bar.

  • Marinus Link in relation to the development of a second interconnector under the Bass Strait, linking the Tasmanian and Victorian electricity networks.
  • EnergyCo on the structuring and procurement of the Central-West Arana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) project.
  • Equinor (sponsor) in connection with the Empire Wind offshore wind project (2.1 GW) off the coast of New York and Beacon Wind offshore wind project (1,230 MW) off the coast of Massachusetts including with respect to procurement contracts and project financing structuring.*  
  • BlackRock Alternatives on a US$650+m JV with Daimler Truck North America and NextEra Energy Resources to design, develop, install, and operate a U.S. nationwide, zero-emission public charging and hydrogen fuelling network for medium- and heavy-duty battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell trucks.* 
  • Financiers and tax equity investors in relation to the financing of numerous onshore wind and solar projects across the United States.*
