Tania advises on disputes, investigations and corporate crime, with particular expertise in anti-bribery matters. 

Tania is a Partner in the Disputes Group, and specialises in corporate crime and investigations and financial services regulatory matters.

Tania has a wide variety of experience in her disputes practice, including acting and assisting in the conduct of proceedings (both in Court and arbitral proceedings), in advising clients in regulatory and internal investigations, and the provision of general commercial advice.

In the anti-bribery and corruption area, Tania works with clients responding to regulatory investigations, undertaking internal investigations and developing compliance policies, training and programs. 

Tania assists clients with the following legal issues:

  • investigations by the Australian Federal Police, ASIC and other regulatory and enforcement bodies
  • internal investigations
  • corporate compliance, including in relation to anti–corruption matters
  • crisis response
  • general commercial disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution
  • general commercial advice, including litigation risk management.

Background

Tania graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005 with a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours). She is admitted to practise as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.

  • assisting an ASX-listed company in its response to an investigation by the Australian Federal Police into allegations of corruption
  • assisting a major Australian engineering company in its internal investigation following media allegations of bribery and corruption
  • acting for an ASX-listed company on a multi-jurisdictional corruption investigation involving the DOJ, SEC and AFP
  • acting for an ASX-listed company on an internal investigation into business activities in Indonesia, including considering whistle-blower issues and reporting obligations in New South Wales and Singapore
  • advising various public and private Australian client in reviewing and implementing anti-corruption compliance policies and procedures
  • assisting a major bank with its dealings with ASIC in relation to the collapse of Storm Financial, a major financial services intermediary that collapsed in 2009
  • acting for Ausnet Services in its defence of a class action arising out of the Black Saturday bushfires
  • advising the Telstra board in relation to the National Broadband Network project.
