Xavier is a construction and infrastructure lawyer specialising in dispute resolution.  

Xavier works closely with clients to assist with the resolution of construction and infrastructure disputes. He has in-depth experience of the infrastructure and energy sectors, and has represented a range of clients (both employers and contractors) in adjudication, arbitration, litigation and alternative forms of dispute resolution.

Xavier has experience dealing with a wide range of issues on construction projects including issues related with variations, delay and disruption, extensions of time and defective work claims. He has acted for a range of clients on a variety of infrastructure projects, energy and renewables projects, water treatment plants and major buildings and upgrades.

  • representing a major provider of engineering and operational services to the onshore oil and gas pipeline sector in an ICE arbitration against the head contractor
  • acting for an international construction contractor as the head contractor for an LNG regasification plant in an ICC arbitration
  • representing the owner of a biomass power plant in an ICC arbitration, both defending and bringing claims against the head contractor
  • acting for a global mining client in a long-running ACICA arbitration concerning a contractual dispute
  • representing Edify Energy Pty Ltd in relation to claims arising from the construction of a large solar farm in North Queensland, Australia.
