Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has hired TMT lawyers Emmanuel Ronco and Vincent Denoyelle as partners in the firm's Corporate practice, based in Paris.

Emmanuel and Vincent will join from Eversheds Sutherland where they are partners in the IP/IT & Data Privacy group. Emmanuel is also the co-head of the global IP group while Vincent is the international head of media at Eversheds.

Bringing with him over 20 years of experience, Emmanuel advises international groups, particularly in the technology, luxury, hospitality, biotechnology and sport sectors, on IP and data privacy matters. He focuses on transactions that involve intangible assets such as IP rights, personal data and image rights. He regularly advises on technology transfer operations, joint ventures, data monetisation, GDPR and AI compliance as well as data and cybersecurity breaches.

Vincent, who also has over 20 years of experience, specialises in internet and IT law. He advises vendors and customers on matters involving IT contracts, domain names, personal data, cloud computing, cryptology, e-commerce and social networks. While his practice spans a range of sectors, Vincent has a strong focus on cloud service providers and emerging technologies in the financial services sector.

Régis Oréal, Managing Partner of the firm's Paris office, commented:

"Together, Emmanuel and Vincent bring a wealth of transactional TMT and IP/data experience to Herbert Smith Freehills. Their expertise equips our leading Corporate/M&A practice in Paris with a strong layer of additional capability to deliver an even higher level of support to clients across the French and European markets. We warmly welcome Emmanuel and Vincent to the firm."

Mike Flockhart, Global Co-Head of Corporate, said:

"Emmanuel and Vincent will further strengthen our Corporate offering with their deep expertise in IP and emerging technologies. Their experience will enable us to provide ever more robust advice to clients as they navigate the complexities of operating in an increasingly digital world and complying with European laws and regulations which continue to develop and evolve rapidly."

Herbert Smith Freehills celebrates the 60th anniversary of its Paris office this year. The Paris office currently boasts 32 partners, 17 of Counsel and 130 fee-earners.

Emmanuel and Vincent are the second and third partners to join the firm's Paris office this year, following the re-hire of Finance partner Laure Bonin, and the second and third partners to join the firm's Corporate practice in EMEA following the hire of private capital partner Gregor Klenk.
