Over the last 18 months, Herbert Smith Freehills has been working with the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (the CREFC), a trade body for real estate debt lenders and investors in Europe, to help produce the new edition of CREFC's due diligence guide for lenders against UK commercial real estate.
The CREFC Due Diligence (DD) Guide is designed as an overview of the main issues that due diligence should address in the context of a loan to be secured on real estate in England and Wales. The DD Guide has detailed sections covering Development Finance and will influence the standard of what due diligence is required on a development financing transaction (as well as succinctly explaining why it is required) making it an indispensable resource for both lender clients financing developments and developer clients looking to secure financing for their developments.
The CREFC Due Diligence Guide (2019 edition) is now available online here.
