Lisa Fried

Lisa Fried, a partner in our financial services litigation practice, represents some of the world's leading financial institutions and other global companies in complex commercial litigation, major class actions, and investigations.

She frequently represents non-U.S. banks in cross-border matters and has particular experience in conflicts between U.S. and foreign laws. Lisa is a respected litigator known for providing practical advice, communicating effectively, and being attentive to detail. 

In recent years, Lisa has represented major European banks in class action litigation relating to LIBOR, forex, and SSA bonds; various global companies in connection with inquiries and actions by the SEC, DOJ, NYDFS, and other government entities; several of the nation's largest residential loan servicers in hundreds of civil actions and appeals concerning lending practices; and numerous other companies in commercial disputes ranging from fending off a temporary restraining order to halt the sale of an aircraft securing a US$60 million loan to obtaining dismissal, affirmed on appeal to the Second Circuit, of a class action alleging violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She has also advised financial institutions on the potential civil liability they face in connection with the increasingly common cyberattacks being directed at global companies. Lisa's broad commercial practice frequently involves bankruptcy matters and appeals.

Lisa maintains a robust pro bono practice that has included death penalty cases, immigration matters, and appeals concerning gun control laws.
