Mika is a senior associate specialising in environmental, social and governance.
She advises clients on matters relating to ESG-related regulation, soft law standards and voluntary compliance frameworks, as well as market disclosure and reporting. She also helps clients with ESG-related risk management, stakeholder engagement and corporate sustainability strategy, and she frequently advises on ESG issues in the context of transactions.
Background
Before moving to focus on ESG, Mika specialised in energy and infrastructure finance and project development with a focus on renewable projects including in emerging markets. She has experience acting for commercial banks, DFIs, sponsors and borrowers, including by way of a secondment to a major European bank.

- developing and delivering bespoke training to clients on sustainability regulatory developments, sustainability disputes, parent company and supply chain liability, greenwashing and social-washing risk, sustainability contractual drafting, risk management and dispute avoidance strategy, and dispute resolution
- advising a global extractive company on managing risk in relation to sustainability-related website publications and public commitments at parent level and across its network of global subsidiaries, including by reviewing and amending website content and advising on greenwashing and social-washing risk
- advising a digital transformation company on the quality and completeness of sustainability-related reporting, risk assessments, targets, and strategy
- acting on multiple project financing transactions to renewable energy producers, including solar, wind and hydro in Asia and Africa
