Online safety series
Essential information to navigate the complexities of online safety regulations
The Online Safety Act is a landmark legislative package that focuses on combating illegal content and certain "lawful but harmful" content online. At over 300 pages long (and with Ofcom's accompanying draft Code of Practice on Illegal Harms alone currently standing at 1,700 pages), it is certainly a comprehensive package to navigate, especially for those online services subject to Ofcom's jurisdiction for the very first time.
To help ease the compliance burden, we have synthesised this complexity into a series of user-friendly questions and answers that our clients are currently asking.
In the first chapter in this series we look at "Who is caught by the OSA?"
Chapter 1
In the first chapter of our new series we seek to answer your questions around the scope of the OSA and provide a more detailed overview of the types of online services that might be caught by the new regulatory regime
Chapter 2
We answer these questions and more in the second part of our series explaining what you need to know about the OSA
